Methodology

How to read this data.

Benchmarks use anonymous aggregate Season 8 Women's Open race distributions from Pyrox. The completed season provides a large, stable comparison set.

Finish-time percentiles use 11,813 valid complete results. Missing or clearly invalid station splits are excluded from the relevant station, so split counts vary slightly.

This view includes Women's Open athletes in the 40–44 category. Age groups are based on the recorded race result. It is not a venue or championship qualification standard. Course layout, Roxzone distance, penalties and race conditions vary.

Questions

Benchmark FAQ.

What is the average Women's Open time?+

The median is 1:37:00. Median is the clearest typical benchmark because unusually long results do not pull it upwards like a simple average.

What counts as a good time?+

1:26:46 reaches approximately the fastest 25% of this dataset. 1:19:26 reaches approximately the fastest 10%. Your experience, age and race goal still matter.

What does the Top 1% benchmark mean?+

1:09:32 is the approximate cut-off for the fastest 1% of valid Women's Open results in this dataset. It describes an exceptional result, not an official qualification standard.

Why don't the typical splits add up exactly to the finish benchmark?+

Each run, station and Roxzone figure is calculated independently from its own distribution. One athlete is unlikely to sit at exactly the same percentile in every segment.

How are age groups handled?+

Age-group filters are shown only where the source data contains a sufficiently large, reliable cohort. They are currently available for Men's Open and Women's Open; every other division uses its complete field.

Are unlike divisions mixed together?+

No. Women's Open Singles is its own cohort. Open, Pro, Mixed and partner categories remain separate so different loading standards and race formats do not distort the result.
